The famous Terracotta Army is a collection of hand-carved terracotta sculptures found in China depicting the huge fighting armies of Qin Shi Huang who was China’s first Emperor. The soldiers were buried with the emperor in order to protect him in the afterlife. There were more than 8,000 sculptures of soldiers, 520 horses, 130 chariots and 150 cavalry horses which were discovered buried with the emperor in 210-209 BCE.
